Dina Bellotti, Alexandrian by birth, Turin by education - in fact from 1930 to 1934 she attended courses at the Accademia Albertina, as a pupil of Cesare Ferro -, in the Piedmontese capital, in via Bava, the first study will open. And among the works that will give a first notoriety to the young artist will be just an image of the capital, Turin, Piazza Emanuele Filiberto, etching of 1938, exhibited at the XXI International Biennial of Art in Venice, and purchased by Vittorio Emanuele III, now preserved in the heritage of the Quirinale. In 1939 the turning point; the artist moved with her family on the Ligurian Riviera, to Sestri Levante, which would become her adopted homeland and to which she would remain bound forever even after moving to Rome, following her husband. "I have an incurable nostalgia for the sea" she wrote from the capital, returning every year to her beloved Sestri for the summer holidays
